The challenge

The shop carries thousands of items, and they live in the price lists of nine different suppliers. Each publishes data its own way: its own attribute names, its own units, photos on busy backgrounds or with someone else’s watermark. Maintaining that catalogue by hand is a full-time job, and it still lags behind.

What we did

Nine supplier scrapers

Each visits its own site on a schedule and collects products, prices and stock. A scheduler keeps the catalogue current with no human involved.

Automatic photo processing

A neural network removes the background and images are normalised to one format, so products from different suppliers look like a single storefront rather than a patchwork.

Specification normalisation

Rules map the many spellings of the same attribute onto one shared vocabulary, which is what makes the catalogue filters work at all.

Accounting sync

CommerceML import keeps stock accounting where the bookkeeper already works.

Four storefront themes

The look of the store is switched from the admin panel, with no developer involved.

Content and orders

Range, training, article and certificate pages are edited in the admin panel; orders run a full lifecycle with notifications.

The result

The catalogue keeps prices and availability current across nine suppliers with no manual work. Products that never used to reach the site now appear automatically and all look equally tidy.
